Valentine Story

Contemplative

Valentine

She was a good poet. The Arts Council put me on its board and gave me the poetry chair. So I could say stuff like “she was a good poet.” OK, she was beautiful, too. But, hey, since I was on the Arts Council, I could say stuff like “she was beautiful.” But looks could go on forever! Without an artist, especially a poet, to describe it, we would all still be drawing pictures on the cave wall with fire embers and chiseling “Ugh + Ughm” on all the rocks.

The venue was the Valentine Love and Lust session of “The Tongue Also Rises” month long poetry tour. We are very fortunate in this county. We have more poets than we have bankers and stockbrokers combined. And we have enough artists to put up one of our own for the National Endowment of the Arts. Anyway, that beautiful poet and I have been together now five years. I wrote the Love Lettuce audio book combo for her. Some of the poems are in the LingoPoeto Valentine package which is available at The Sees The Day Mall When you go to the mall, select the EXECUTABLES category from the category string at the top of the entry page.

Oh, yes, the Valentine Story. Well, years have gone by. We have a fine handsome young son who was one year old on February 14, 2009. His foto is at the top of this post. His name is Buddy, nee Mr. Darcy, aka Dot.Dog, or Aquarius, but mostly we just call him Valentine. And that, my valentine friends, is my valentine story.
